How do I enable POP of my GMail account:
You must have a POP enabled GMail account before using backup to gmail. To enable POP in your Gmail account, please follow these steps:
- Log in to your Gmail account
- Click ‘Settings’ at the top of any Gmail page
- Click ‘Forwarding and POP’ in the orange ‘Mail Settings’ box
- Select ‘Enable POP for all mail’ or ‘Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.’
- Save Changes
How do I extract my archives downloaded from my GMail account :
backup to gmail put in the needed files in zipped format and then send them to your GMail with .rar extension. ( Gmail dont' accept some extensions such as .exe or .chm) If you ever loose your work, open you locale backup destination directory or just go to your GMail account and download the archive, Click “Resotore” on the software left menu, select “Extract From” as your backuped .rar or .zip file, select a “Extract To” directory, then click “Extract” button to extract it.
I Couldn’t send any files to my GMail
backup to gmail uses port 465 (GMail SMTP) to send emails, so in case it’s not open in your firewall it should be open (will be updated in future to use port 25). Port 465 is not a standard SMTP port. So if you couldn’t send any files to your GMail, perhaps your company’s firewall is blocking port 465.
